Introduction to the University of Stirling
The University of Stirling, founded in 1967, occupies a picturesque 330-acre campus on the historic Airthrey Estate near the city of Stirling. It earned a global reputation for high‑quality teaching and world‑leading research. With more than 18,500 students from over 140 nations, UoS delivers a diverse and inclusive academic experience where ability—not background—is at the forefront of opportunity.
When we were first approached by our long-time customer, the University of Stirling, over a decade ago, we were delighted to be offered the chance to work with such a prestigious, well-established and impactful brand in Scotland. The projects initially began with us supporting their internal print department with small jobs. Then, our collaboration expanded to include more work with their marketing department on larger signage projects.

The University of Stirling on their experience working with us:
1. What was the overall aim of your project that led you to work with Pointmedia Creative?
“We had several branded projects to deliver. To uphold our brand’s integrity, our aim was to produce high-quality printed materials that met design, functionality, and delivery standards. We needed a print partner who could be relied upon to provide precision, consistency, and efficiency, and Pointmedia Creative achieved these objectives throughout each project.”
2. Can you describe the recent projects we have worked on together and what made them unique?
Did our representatives give you advice and support, and do you have any comments about them?
“We have worked with Pointmedia Creative across various large print projects recently, including our ‘Help us help you’ campaign, Sports Centre internal graphics, Indoor Golf Studio branding, and exterior building signage. Each of these projects required individual site visits, tailored print specifications and precise install dates. We were guided throughout the process by Sara, our Account Manager at Pointmedia Creative, and she was always available to support and answer any questions we had along the journey from planning to installation.”
3. What was most important to you when selecting a print partner for this project?
“The most important factors that we consider when selecting a print partner are: print quality, reliability, experience, customer support, and cost value. Working with Pointmedia Creative allowed us to maintain strict quality control, customise print specifications, conduct various site visits, and ensure timely production and delivery.”
4. How did you find the process of working with us — from concept to delivery?
“We have worked with Pointmedia Creative for a number of years, which makes the process of working together very easy due to the relationship that has been built on trust and reliability over time. It is very valuable and insightful to work from concept to delivery together, and it involves several key stages: planning, design, proofing, production, and installation. Each phase presented unique challenges and learning opportunities. The whole process requires excellent project management, collaboration and adaptability.”
5. Did you receive any comments, positive or negative, and would you recommend us to others? If so, why?
“Yes, we received very positive feedback on the final printed materials, including print quality and quick turnaround. There were a few minor areas for improvement, but they were addressed professionally and did not impact the overall success of the project. Based on the experience from communication to final delivery, we would confidently recommend Pointmedia Creative to others.”

Visual Identity and Graphic Design for a Bold Brand Transformation
At Pointmedia Creative, creating powerful visual solutions that boost brand visibility is more than simply a job; it’s an art. Our work with the University of Stirling over the years is a great illustration of how strong visual identity and bold graphic design can change a space, improve communication, and get people more involved.
The University of Stirling hired our team to introduce changes to important parts of their campus as part of a university-wide effort to improve their environment and make their brand more visible. The end result is a unified, immersive, and eye-catching visual experience that communicates to students, staff, and visitors alike.
Creative Ideas That Make Brand Identity Clear
Each brand has a story to tell. The hard part is telling that story in a way that is both visually interesting and true. We started working with the University of Stirling by looking closely at their current identity, culture, and values. The goal was to establish a visual language that would be consistent across diverse places and would fascinate and inspire people.
Our design team made a set of custom wall coverings that used strong images, brand colours, and typographic treatments to make sure that every time you look at them, they are simple, easy to recognise, and tell a well structured narrative. We made sure that the project did more than just decorate by promoting clear communication and making the visuals more powerful. It also expressed the Universities identity.
Bespoke Display Graphics to Boost Brand Visibility
This change was all about high-impact, large-format graphics. Each installation was designed to increase brand connection and interaction, from busy hallways to communal and collaborative spaces. Every graphic display had a strategic purpose in making messages clear and strengthening the relationship to the university’s brand.
It wasn’t just about adding pictures to make things look better; it was about purposeful storytelling. Our approach was flexible and creative, which helped the University of Stirling visually communicate its principles and goals while also making the constructed environment more captivating to look at for students and all the university’s visitors.
Our Approach to Design and Service Excellence
We believe in delivering more than products; we deliver experiences. Our design methodology combines technical expertise with creative inspiration to produce visually stunning and memorable results.
For the University of Stirling, our team brought together decades of printing experience with cutting-edge design thinking to provide a seamless service from concept to installation. The boldness of the final displays reflects not only a commitment to design innovation but also to the effectiveness of collaboration between client and designer.
Enhancing Brand Behaviour and Customer Engagement
Understanding brand behaviour was essential to the success of our projects. Every design choice was rooted in an understanding of how people move, behave, and interact with their environment. We crafted installations that didn’t just display information—they inspired behaviour, prompted engagement, and encouraged interaction.
Through immersive visual identity applications, we helped the University of Stirling embrace its values and showcase them in a physical form. The result is a campus that communicates its mission with visual clarity and authenticity, supporting a culture of creativity and connection.
Wayfinding Signage and Visual Communication Strategy
A key component of the project was the development and installation of wayfinding signage throughout the university. This included clear, visually aligned directional signs that aided navigation and reinforced the university’s brand identity. Every element—from iconography and typography to placement and colour—was designed to enhance user experience while maintaining consistency with the broader visual communication strategy.
Wayfinding is more than just signage; it’s a crucial element of how people engage with a space. The effectiveness of these installations lies in their ability to guide, inform, and reassure while simultaneously strengthening brand recognition. The result was a perfect integration of form and function—a campus that communicates clearly and confidently at every turn.
