The Printing Process: Delivering High-Impact Graphics & Installation at the Antonine Shopping Centre
Preparing the Printer Driver and Print Setup
The Printing Process begins long before we arrive on site. For the recent vinyl graphic installation at the Antonine Shopping Centre, our focus was on Precision; making sure the sign looked slick and there were no rough edges or overlaps, and Brand Visibility; making sure the main subject of the print (the brand) was visible and clear.
Our in-house production began with preparing the printer driver to ensure accurate colour matching and clarity; this provides us with precision and enables the brand visibility we are looking for. Using 64-bit supported operating systems, we configured the printer via our server connection, opened the driver folder, and confirmed all screen fonts and output settings were calibrated correctly. Whether we’re operating in a 32-bit environment or installing the printer driver for Mac OS, we always check the settings to ensure the machine and software are in sync. With the printer configured and the files fully prepared, we selected the job profile for this particular vinyl type and output the artwork before sending it off to be printed from our machine.
Sign Preparation and On-Site Installation Procedure
Once the print was completed, our installers transported the material to Cumbernauld at the Antonine Shopping Centre for the sign wrap installation. This location, known for its high foot traffic and retail visibility, required an impactful yet professional visual solution. The surface was first cleaned with a special solution and measured to specification—a crucial step in ensuring successful adhesion of the graphic and longevity.
Our team followed a clearly structured installation procedure, checking alignment, trimming as necessary, and ensuring no distortion in the layout. We used installation utility tools and standard guides to align the vinyl properly and avoid bubbles, creases, or edge lift. The graphic was applied using a controlled technique, allowing the adhesive to activate while keeping it easy to reposition if necessary.
The easy installation process was aided by pre-flighting all files, mapping the printer driver folder, and ensuring that output matched the approved design proofs. Supporting the client’s vision, our team referred to the original artwork instructions and maintained constant communication throughout to connect and support the branding outcome.

Graphic Impact and Brand Visibility
The printed graphic itself was designed to be bold, engaging, and instantly recognisable and matching the other graphics within the shopping centre. Created by our internal design team, the artwork reflects the centre’s dynamic identity and helped strengthen and change the brand presence across the shopping environment.
We used a durable, high-quality vinyl suited to external installations. Printed via solvent-based large-format technology, the colours retained vibrancy while offering long-term durability against UV and environmental exposure. This form of print ensures brand messaging remains sharp, regardless of conditions or viewing angles.
Our support team also installed the printer to default factory settings post-job, readying it for the next production phase and ensuring consistent performance across devices and users.
Software & Driver Efficiency
One less visible but equally critical part of the installation process was the software and setup management. We loaded the correct printer driver from the supplied driver CD-ROM, ran the setup64.exe for the 64-bit system, and manually specified the IP address of the printer. For USB installations, we checked the port assignments and cable stability to avoid dropped connections or data loss.
We also ensured the printing specified as the default device was enabled, which avoids confusion or delays when running multiple job queues across departments. For environments running older software, we made sure to change the PC settings accordingly, supporting full compatibility with all supported operating systems.
Finished Result and Customer Impact
Once installed, the vinyl became more than just a graphic—it became part of the shopping centre’s visual story and completly uplifted the entire shop front. It draws eyes, informs, and communicates the message of a modern, connected retail hub. The clean lines, perfect alignment, and sharp colour reproduction reflect Pointmedia Creative’s commitment to combining technical excellence with on-site finesse and getting the job done right.
